“HEY, BIATCH. I BROUGHT some Pinot Noir.” Holly said, walking through the hallway. Lou assaulted her as soon as he saw her. She almost lost her balance and fell on her ass. That’s what she got for wearing five-inch pumps.

“Lou, stop that. Go lie down.” Gabby pointed to his large bed in the living room.

“Hey, Holly. What are you wearing? You would think we live in downtown Las Angeles.” She laughed and then turned and grabbed two glasses from the cupboard and set them on the counter. Holly poured them each a glass, and they both got comfortable in the living room. Holly and Gabby had been friends since pre-kindergarten. Nothing got in their way, and they could always count on each other. Holly had even warned her about Nate with her suspicions, but Gabby just didn’t want to believe it. But Holly had been right in the end.

Thursday nights were reserved for their date nights’. Holly would come over, and they would catch up and watch old romance movies. She had been Gabby’s crutch since she left Nate and since her parents had passed.

“Hey, I love fashion, and I don’t give a shit if I live in a redneck town or not. I will never leave the house without my pumps. So...spill girl. How big was his cock? Is he a keeper?” Holly asked, taking a sip of her wine.

“You’re such a slut.” Gabby laughed and then looked at her friend. “Big! He certainly knows how to use it and his tongue. Oh my god!”

Holly laughed out loud and took her heels off then tucked her feet under her legs in an effort to get more comfortable. “Well, are you going to see him again?”

She tucked a strand behind her ear and turned on the television. “Probably. He wants to take me out to supper next time he is in town. But honestly, I’m not going to keep my hopes up. He lives in Santa Monica. That’s a hike and a half.”

“What does he do?”

“He’s a developer. He and his brothers are buying the land on the other side of Cedar Lake to build some kind of resort.” She explained then took a sip of her wine.

Holly’s eye perked at the information. “Oh, he has brothers. I smell a double date. You’re going to have to hook me up. Their probably filthy rich.”

“Whoa, there, girl. I don’t even know if I’ll see him again.” Gabby didn’t want to get her hopes up, but she hadn’t felt like this in a long time. She hadn’t even felt like this with Nate, but she didn’t want to jinx's herself and ruin what hadn’t even happened yet. If it was meant to be, then it was meant to be. She was a huge believer in fate, and she was lonely. She was only 21, and when she lost her parents, she was 19 years old with only Nate and Holly for support. Now Holly was her crutch. She could definitely use a man around the house, but she knew it would only happen when it was supposed to.
